FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01. How many lessons will it take for my child to learn to swim?

Excellent question! There are a lot of factors that contribute to a child's success in learing to swim, but you can expect to see positive results within 10 lessons. Please speak with your instructor individually to compose a plan for your child's success.

02. What is your policy regarding bad weather during lessons?

The weather is definitely a factor when it comes to swim lessons, and safety is our top priority. If the weather conditions become a safety concern, then we will reschedule your lesson with no penalty. If your child is in a lesson and is able to make it through 50% of the lesson before the weather deteriorates, that will count as a full lesson.

03.  Is it bad for my child to wear floaties?

Not necessairly, but please educate yourself about the flotation devices that you are using. Not all child flotation devices are Coast Guard approved, as many provide a false sense of security and can be hazardous to small children. What your child learns will depend on what level lessons they are in. Swimmers in the infant survival lessons will learn life saving skills that inclue floating, pool navigation, and underwater swimming. Swimmers in the stroke development lessons can expect to learn each of the Olympic strokes, while learning how to increase their stroke efficiency and endurance. Swimmers in our competition training lessons will learn stroke technique, while learning performance enhancing tips to improve stroke efficiency.

06. What is your cancellation/no show policy?

In the event of an emergency, please contact your instructor as quickly as possible to inform them of the emergency so that your lesson can be rescheduled without penalty. If you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson, please notify your instructor 24 hours in advance. Swim lessons that result in a "no show" will be counted in your 10 lesson package. If you did not purchase a 10 lesson package and you "no show" for your lesson, you will be charged for one half of a lesson.
